Elections
Procudures:
Elections are held annually in May for officers and
Executive Board Members.
All terms are for two years with the possibility of
re-election.
Officers are elected the same year, whereas
Executive Board Members are staggered as their two
year terms expire.
If
someone steps down, special elections are held.
The standing official would finish their term and
the newly elected official would assume
responsibilities at the end of the term.
If
the President steps down, the Vice President
finishes the term.
BEA President must have held elected office prior to
becoming president.
Any open seats can
be filled by special election at any time.
