Duties

  • nBe a BEA contact and resource person in your building

  • Attend combined Rep Council/Executive Board meetings once a month held on the first Thursday of each month

  • Hold 10 minute meetings to brief your colleagues of Rep. Council and other BEA updates

  • Listen to possible contract violations and communicate with the Grievance Committee

  • Distribute membership materials to members at the start of the school year

  • Help recruit new members throughout the school year

  • Participate in some BEA campaigns and projects

Representative (Rep) Council Information

  • nThe Rep Council is made up of elected representatives from each building.

  • nThe building Reps keep staff members informed of BEA news and happenings

  • nBuilding Reps are resource people in their locations for concerns and questions about our contract, the BEA, and other issues.

  • nEach building qualifies for one representative per 10 (full-time) teachers.

  • Building Reps serve 2 year terms with the option of renewal.  New Reps are named in September.
